We cultivate intentional, aesthetic experiences through structural, fine art florals that chronicle your history, elevate your event, and inspire guests.
In addition to her
passion for floral design, Marissa is inspired by her love of the outdoors and
enjoys hiking, snowboarding, and traveling to new locations to connect with
nature.
With both artistry and operational excellence, Marissa executes floral designs
that are an extension of her clients’ visions, exemplifying the best in structural,
modern, garden-style florals.
Guided by her free spirit, thrilled by the possibility of new explorations, and
driven by her desire to forge meaningful connections — Marissa draws her
inspiration from the steadfast, yet evolving nature of the natural elements and
settings she’s encountered on her travels around the world.
She also attended the Academy of Arts University where she studied photography, dance, and other artistic mediums. Leaving behind a career in product development for startups in the Bay Area,
Marissa founded The Wild Fleur Co. in 2020, quickly garnering a roster
of prestigious clients and a portfolio of elevated events.
As an adult, Marissa’s love for flowers provided a creative outlet to express her
passion, experience healing, and forge deeper connections with her community.
Hailing from a family of entrepreneurs, Marissa Zoetewey was always destined to open her own floral studio and serve clients through inspired florals.
With an
aunt who was a florist and a mother who regularly sold her creations at local
craft shows, Marissa learned the artistry of floral design, the detail of quality
craftsmanship, and the value of forming meaningful connections from
those closest to her.
but also for her transparency and hardworking nature.
What inspires her most is tuning into your vision and expressing the
quintessential spark that makes your event unlike any other through floral design
that exudes intentionality.
Marissa is beloved by her clients not only for her floral expertise...
Marissa turned to a career in floristry because she rediscovered her love for
it in the flower markets after losing her mom to cancer.
She is a certified yoga teacher and received her credentials at an ashram in India.
Marissa has hiked in places like Clouds Rest and Half Dome in Yosemite.
Her biggest dream is to embark upon the Camino de Santiago in Portugal
and Spain.
Marissa has backpacked solo through Europe.
Outside of floristry, Marissa dreams of writing a dog storybook about her
pup Gigi (you’ll meet her below).
In a time of great difficulty and personal loss, Marissa found that not only was floristry healing and therapeutic, but also a profound fine art.
Marissa values continual professional development and upleveling of her skills as a florist, artist, and business owner.
Professional highlight: attending a workshop in Belgium where she was inspired by old-world architecture and nature’s great compositions.
Named after the musical “Gigi,” Gigi the fun-loving Pomeranian is the sweetest
dog you’ll ever meet. Not only is she highly skilled at agility, but she also loves to
go on hikes, eat chicken lettuce wraps, and, of course, snuggle.
Gigi recently passed her Good Citizen Canine and Novice Trick Dog Tests, awarded by the American
Kennel Club. She currently holds two AKC titles.
The Wild Fleur Co. counts among its team members a trusted circle of contractors
who help us execute our events at the highest level. Oh, and Marissa’s adorable pampered pooch Gigi.
